9/11/20 Too Many Times

When I was young in the Lord, I had many besetting sins. Even though I loved the Lord with all my heart, the bondages had not yet fallen away. The Lord was removing them one at a time and I had many left to address.

Once after many failures, I cried out to the Lord, asking Him how He could continue to forgive me. It seemed like the thousandth time I had come to Him. In the quiet of the evening, He came to me and said, “Do you know that I forgive you no longer unto My remembrance?  I don’t have a bad memory; I choose to forgive and forget, never remembering the last time you offended me. Your sins are as far as the East is from the West.”  He then told me I had a million “forgivenesses” in my account and many more after that if I needed them.

Our Father is on our side. He knew how many times we would fail Him even before He asked us into His kingdom, and He still asked us! He is in the forgiveness business as long as we are in the repentance business. That means we always have His power available to us to do whatever tasks we may have on hand with the knowledge that He is with us.

Men, there are times when you and I fall down on the job concerning our families. If things are so bad that the possibility of reconciliation seems hopeless, we can be confident that the Lord is with us in our time of need. He is waiting for us to call out to Him, and by the power of His Holy Spirit, He will do whatever it takes to help us overcome our situation.

You can’t fall down one too many times. He will be there, enabling you to repent. Your life is His. It was His idea in the first place, and He delights in your need of Him.

9/10/20 I AM

“I am your Buckler and Defender. I am your Strong Tower and your Hiding Place. I am your Safety in time of need and your Warrior in times of peril. I am your Counsel. I am your Advocate. I am always for you. I am your Friend. I am your Provider. I am your Wealth in your world. I am your Hope for your future. I call you Mine forever. I am much more than anything else in your life, for I Am your life. There is no one like Me.”

II Chron. 20:17a AMP

You shall not need to fight in this battle; take your positions, stand still, and see the deliverance of the Lord [Who is] with you…

Psalm 62:5-6 AMP

5) My soul, wait only upon God and silently submit to Him; for my hope and expectation are from Him.

6) He only is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved.

Proverbs 18:10 NIV

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

Isa. 46:9-10 AMP

9) [Earnestly] remember the former things, [which I did] of old; for I am God, and there is no one else; I am God, and there is none like Me.

10) Declaring the end and the result from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure and purpose.

Because we are His, He is ours. The truth and wonder that there is a God, and that He is mindful of us, is astounding. That belief and trust in God appears foolish to the skeptic, and yet, only a fool says in his heart that there is no God. The longer we study the wonders of Who He really is, the more wonderful He becomes. We are truly blessed.

Remind me over and over again, Lord,

9/10/20 My Weakness Brings His Strength

So many men, whether they admit it or not, don’t like to be labeled as weak in any area. All the criteria dictated by society tells men from the time they are little boys that they need to be strong and good in bed, must have answers; and, in general, never let anyone know that they are frightened by anything. That kind of attitude has been ingrained in men for so long, that it permeates everything we do without us even being aware of it.

I’m convinced those teachings are some of the major stumbling blocks that hinder men from giving themselves over to the complete Lordship of Christ. Letting go, giving it all over, is so foreign to our thinking that most of us have to be broken before we’ll even consider surrendering everything to Him. In most cases, being out of control is very unfamiliar territory to a man.

God asks us to surrender everything we have and everything we are to the Lordship of Jesus. He asks us to rely totally on Him and His Word in everything we do without question, no matter what the consequences. In God’s economy, full surrender to Him is the opposite of weakness. Total reliance on Him is the strongest, most powerful position any man can take. It allows God’s limitless power, wisdom, and caring to flow in our direction, making us capable of overcoming everything the world has to offer.

Men, it’s time to finally lay down all false dictates and fully surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. It’s time to become weak, so we can become strong in Christ. It’s just time, isn’t it?

9/09/20 Who Are We?

“You say that you are a follower of Jesus. Oh, really! When was the last time that you considered My will more important than yours? When did you care more about someone else than yourself? Do you really care that others are separated from Me for eternity? Do you care enough for them to give your life for them? Would you spend the rest of your life so that they can embrace Jesus? Would you give up everything you owned for them? Whom did you say that you followed?”

I John 2:6 AMP

Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself.

The label of Christian was once given to those who saw Who Jesus was and patterned everything they did after Him. They spent all of their lives studying His way of living and then lived the same way. They took on His heart burdens, His love for the Father, His complete purpose for living. To do less was unthinkable, if they said that they followed Him, for their lives depended on it.

Sometimes following Him meant certain death. It was no small thing to say that you followed Jesus. How close does your life resemble the life of Jesus?

Make me like You, Lord,

9/09/20 I Don’t Have Time

I once knew a person who needed some major changes in her life.  When discussing all the things she needed to address, she let out a sigh in exasperation. “My days are consumed with just surviving,” she lamented. She continued saying something like, “I don’t think I can take on one more thing, no matter how important it seems.”

In today’s very challenging times, most moments in our lives seem to be consumed either by the demands of the world or those obligations we have placed on ourselves. It also seems that taking on a project as gargantuan as rebuilding a fragmented family or a marriage that needs attention is impossible. Most men choose to address the urgent rather than change direction to give attention to the important.

Herein lies the quandary. In the case of a Christian marriage or a family that needs to serve the Lord, the urgent is also the most important. There is nothing more urgent than restoring every element of your marriage that has lost God’s presence on it. Your marriage is supposed to be the foundation from which everything else springs. Without the safety of what God has put together, you as a man are vulnerable to any attack of the enemy. Your marriage must become whole to overcome the challenges ahead.

In the same way, if your children are in need of rescue, there is no more important concern on the heart of God than for them to be serving Him with all their hearts. Anything short of that must be given much face time before Him on their behalf. Along with your marriage, it is your job priority, your calling, and your anointing ahead of any other area. Even serving Him in any other form of ministry should take second place to your ministry to your wife and children.

Gentlemen, start your engines!

Let’s talk more!
