10/15/22 Prospering in Perilous Times

“Honor My Name! Honor the Name of My Son Jesus. Honor My Holy Spirit. Become an advocate for Who We are and what Jesus has done. Dedicate all your waking moments to furthering My plans and you will have found the secret to a joyous life. The world looks for answers as to why they have been born. You have found it in Jesus. He is the answer!”

John 4:34 NIV

“My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.”

1 John 2:6 AMP

Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself.

Merry and I are convinced that perilous times are on the horizon. Biblical times and seasons that parallel the kinds of seasons that are labeled as the “Biblical end times” are unfolding right before our eyes. Soon, the world and most of the unresponsive church will be walking around in a fearful stupor because of the unprecedented anguish that will start to consume them. Only those who heed the call of God that is being heralded now will be prepared for what is ahead.

To live victoriously during these next years, you must renew your relationship with Jesus. You must shake off all of the traditions, dogma, and habits that hinder you from living the full, exuberant life of Jesus in your ordained sphere of influence. Do not be afraid to be different from those who also call themselves Christians. If they are not moving closer to Jesus with a passion as their only reason for breathing, find new friends who are.

When peril comes, most of those who call themselves Christians will “hunker down” in an attempt to be safe; but they’ll be powerless to protect themselves. In a time when the Jesus they have said that they serve is needed most, they will not know how to call on Him or even know who He really is. Therefore, they will hide in fear, thinking that they will find a place of safety. Wherever they go, it will be a tomb for them spiritually speaking.

The only place of safety is to be solely and completely locked up in Jesus Christ, living His passionate life. In times of peril, His overcoming presence will not be with the cowering masses. He will be displayed in all of His radiant glory through those who take the time this very day, perhaps this very moment, to surrender fully to Him and His ways. He will be with those who use their every breath of life for His benefit and the benefit of those who need to see Jesus.

As the Holy Spirit changes you, you will be acquiring the tools you need to not only overcome perilous times, but to prosper during them through the power of the Holy Spirit. You will move in anointed power to represent the Lord.

I choose to honor You, Lord,

Jim Corbett

10/14/22 They Will Need What You Have

“When you walk in unbroken fellowship with Me, you will be loathed by those who choose to remain in their sin. People will come against you for no reason. They will belittle you, fabricate lies about you, and berate you every chance they get. You will be known as the ones who are different than everyone else. They will hate your repentant life, calling you weak and foolish. Many will go far out of their way to accuse you of wrongdoing, even when they have no evidence.

"Others will invent devious ways to undermine your mission. You will be the topic of much gossip, the brunt of many jokes, and the prime suspect of many false rumors. People will not be able to wait to accuse you of something, anything, so that they have reason to separate themselves from you and continue in their sin. Your very presence will convict them, so they will hate you and not want to be near you. You will have few friends because a limited number of people will desire to talk about Me all the time.

"It delights Me that I am the only topic that you feel is worth talking and thinking about each and every minute of your day. Be at peace, even though you feel alone. I am your friend. I will be your neighbor. I will be the one who defends you. You continue to make Me your everything. I will continue to form My Spirit in you.

"The time will come when those who do not listen to you now will listen closely to what you have to say. They will long for the confident presence that you bring to their fearful world. They will need what you have. They will no longer laugh; in fact, they will seek you for answers. For now, do not be concerned. Pray for their immaturity. Pray for their souls.  I am with you.”

1 Peter 4:14  NIV

If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

Few people really understand all aspects of the anointing of God, especially in these days. The work of God is often so watered down by manipulators and carnival barkers that there is much confusion about what it means to be anointed.

In the days of old, when the gnarly–fingered, smelly prophet emerged from his cave with a fresh word from the altar of God, most people hated him. If he stayed in their midst for any length of time, they were convicted of their sin as much by his lifestyle as they were by the words that he said. His caring for or owning nothing of the world convicted them of their blatant worldly desires. His desire to only spend time with God showed how shallow their relationship with God really was, and how far they were from even wanting a deeper relationship.

Jesus walked in an anointing so powerful that the leaders of the day had to kill Him, so that they could continue on with their lifestyle. The fullness of His anointing allowed the plumb line of the Word of God to expose the hearts of everyone with whom He came in contact. The hurting openly expressed their pain. The confused asked questions formerly stifled by tradition. The angry fumed out loud. The repentant dropped and humbled themselves. All of this probably could have been accomplished from a distance, but God decided that mankind needed to be faced up-close and personal. Jesus was God brought to earth. Having all the character of God within Him, He stood on the dusty land and allowed His anointing to expose every heart and accomplish every needed task. Having met Him, people could no longer cloak who they really were. They were forced to make a decision, expose a sin, or express a cry for help, simply because he was in their midst.

If you have sold out to God, the fragrance of the Lord is always with you. If your favorite place is at the feet of Jesus, plan on most everyone attempting to dim the glory of the Lord from your countenance at every turn. If you have determined to sell out to the Lord, no matter what the cost, you can be assured that your life will be the focus of those who choose to remain in their sin. You will not be liked, except by those who are hungry for the Lord themselves.

Be at peace, however, the Lord will be your best friend. No amount of acceptance by the world, the cold, dead church, the self-appointed prophets, or the self-proclaimed judges of your life could ever replace one single moment of the presence of the Lord.

You are the one who is following in the footsteps of those who have gone before you under the power of the Lord. You are the one who has heard the heart of your Father in heaven. You are the one who is pleasing in His sight. You be blessed; you will soon be a blessing to many who will need what you have received from your Lord because you have often run out of your own strength and have desperately needed Him. They will need what you have been given, when they run out of their own strength and religious activity.

Wanting only to please my Lord,

10/13/22 Always Noticed

“Settle it in your heart that nothing can stop Me from working on your behalf. I have invested the life of My Son in you. I have bought you with My heart. I have called you My very own. Too much has been invested in you to allow you to go unnoticed. You are now part of Me. Never believe the lie that I am not concerned for you or that I will in any way forsake you. It is impossible for Me to turn from you. You have My Word on it!”

2 Samuel 14:14b NIV

“But God does not take away life; instead he devises ways so that a banished person may not remain estranged from him.”

Hebrews 13:5b AMP

…for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]

Once we settle our hearts to trust the Word of God, we will find the heart of God. His heart is always for those who have given their lives to Jesus. His heart is always for those who admit their need of Him. His heart is always for those who come to Him with their hearts. He wishes that none should remain without His love. When we accept Him, we become part of Him. He will not forsake His own.

Always remind me of Your love, Lord,

10/12/22 God Will Make the Changes

“As I challenge each of you to become like Jesus, you must remember one very important fact. I am the only One who can make the changes that are needed in you. You can never change yourself. Any attempt to do so enters into the realm of religion and destroys My concept of relationship. Religion is man’s vain attempt to become good before Me. It causes striving, a system of good works in an attempt to impress Me, and much condemnation when you realize that you will never achieve the goal of holiness.

"A person who has an honest relationship with Me, however, understands his complete and total bankruptcy. In his deepest inner parts, there is no hint of the possibility of achieving anything in his own strength. Anything that might be accomplished in him or through him is understood to come from Me. That is the kind of relationship for which Jesus died. He died so that you could cease from any striving to better yourself. I promise to do all of the work of perfecting you and making you holy.

"All I ask you to do is come and spend time with Me. As you do that, I will impart Myself to you.  Each time We visit, a little more of you is perfected. While We enjoy each other, My Word is accomplishing its task. The call that I have on your life is impossible for you to accomplish, especially in the coming times and seasons when I will require the out-flowing of Jesus in your daily walk. It will require total death to your flesh, a painful process.

"Although there will be times of agony, when all you can do is hang on to My promises, I will be hanging on to you, holding you close to Me. In the easier times, let’s have fun together, while I am accomplishing My work  in you and for you.”

Hebrews 10:14 NIV

because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

Those who desire to draw closer to the Lord and become all that they are intended to be know that religion, good works, and striving have no part in their lives. Sometimes, however, every one of us has a tendency to fall into the trap of each one of those elements, especially when we hear the call to holiness and preparation for the coming of our Lord.

As the Father reveals all aspects of His heart, sometimes I reel with the overwhelming challenge that I am called to face. I begin to condemn myself for who I am not, cower at the prospects ahead of me as a Christian in the coming times, stagger at the weight of my responsibility to represent Jesus properly; and become discouraged as I attempt to prepare for His return. It is then that I remember that none of this was my idea in the first place. My Father has ordained my life and has promised to fulfill His plan for it and in it. My job is simply to need Him desperately.

In the above verse, I am so encouraged by the words “those who are being made holy.” The wonderful part of “he has made perfect forever” is pretty incredible and difficult for me to understand fully; but “being made holy” soothes my heart. At this very moment - and every moment until we are with our Father in heaven - the process of making us holy is being accomplished, because we have surrendered our lives to Jesus and His completed work on the cross.  It is being done for us as we embrace the astounding honor of spending time with our Father. What an incredible, assuring promise!

Gratefully jumping on the lap of my Abba,

10/11/22 Time to Step Out

“Few of you are ready to be inconvenienced. Few of you are willing to go the extra mile for those who cannot return the favor. You need to change that. It is a heart position that denies who Jesus is. It is a posture that identifies with the world’s system, not Mine.

"Most of you need to practice stepping out from your comfort zones. You need to purposely place yourselves in positions where you appear as someone greater than who you really are to others. Go beyond your small world and reach into the world of My presence. I will meet you there. It is like building up your muscles. Once you start to exercise them, they become stronger and can do more.

"Build your heart that way. Practice loving deeper. Begin to care for someone who has little ability to care back for you. Get uncomfortably open with your love. Extend your love beyond the reasonable and into the realm of the unashamed. It is the antithesis of what is happening in the world. You will stand apart. You will be taken advantage of. Your personal zones may be inconvenienced. You may be laughed at after you have spent yourself, scorned when you exhaust your resources for the sake of others; and chastised when you display unabashed acceptance to the unacceptable. It will be fun.

"I love to accompany you to those kinds of vibrant displays of the heart of Jesus. I love to fill empty, outstretched hands with miracles. I love to find ways for those who have no ways. I love it when you, My chosen ones, show others Jesus rather than simply talk about Him. Go find where He may be found, instead of continually calling Him to where you are. We will rejoice together in the vibrant world of loving service.”

I Sam. 16:7b AMP

For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.

Matt. 22:37-39 AMP

37) And He replied to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (intellect).

38) This is the great (most important, principal) and first commandment.

39) And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself.

John 15:13 NIV

“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”

Jesus left His heavenly home, was persecuted, whipped; and then died on the cross while others laughed at Him, so that we - who say that we are His followers - could remain comfortable in our own little worlds, store up riches for ourselves, and demand more from God. I don’t think so!!!

May I be like You, Jesus,

Jim Corbett
