2/04/22 Sidestepping the Alligator Fight

“When you get a focused vision for doing My will, many intrusions will attempt to distract you. When you function in My will, new, rich fruit will become evident. When rich fruit from your functioning in Me becomes evident, attacks of the enemy will increase to distract you from keeping on course. They will be an attempt to sidetrack you from what you were doing to produce the rich fruit and force you to become an “enemy fighter.” It is a tactic often used to nullify your productivity for My kingdom. Keep your eyes on the course that you have been given and turn the warfare over to Me. I will be your defender. I will use My power on your behalf. You keep your attentions on your task at hand and continue to allow fruit from your efforts to ripen. I am your strong tower.”

Acts 4:29-35 NIV

29) “Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your Word with great boldness.

30) Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

31) After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.

32) All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had.

33)  With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all.

34) There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales

35) and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need.

During this time of great pressure, the apostles prayed for boldness, not deliverance, and they did not refocus their attentions. The Lord responded with the provision of boldness, power, and unity. The work continued without the typical sidetracking.

If you are under pressure because of the inroads you are making for the Lord, turn the warfare over to Him and keep doing what is bearing fruit. Do not be enticed into the “alligator fight” that will quiet your work and garner your attention.

Keep me looking only to You,

2/04/22 The Same as Before

One day, possibly early in the morning, a worn sandal touched the edge of the Jordan River. The time had come for the next portion of the plans of God to be set in motion. Quietly, with no fanfare except for the comments made by John the Baptist, the eternal consequences of people’s choices from that time onward would be made known to them. The people who lived in that time period would need to conform to the plan that unfolded before them, whether they wanted to or not. Their lives had changed from that very moment. No one could stop what had been set in motion. This season in the plan of God will continue until He says it’s over.

Shortly before this season concludes, it is generally believed that an application of grace will be available to the end-time generation, so that they might reveal to the world the true character of Jesus Christ. It is also an accepted teaching that there will be a wooing, or heralding, to draw intimately close to Jesus shortly before the final call for those Christians who choose to be a part of that move of God.

For several years now, the discerning ones within the church have sensed that particular wooing to holiness, an exhortation to deep repentance, a bridal call to single-heartedness, and complete submission to the will of God.  He is calling His men to restore their offices of husband and father. He is asking them to rescue their children from the influences of the world.

Make no mistake, as sure as the times changed when that sandal of the Messiah met the edge of the Jordan, the present times will change when God decides to finalize His current bridal call. Have you responded?  Maybe you should consider doing so before He says, “Enough; all is completed.”

2/03/22 Ready to Show Them Jesus

“Those of you, who have determined in your heart to hear My heart, know that something has recently happened in the spiritual realm. You are aware of the move into a darker time as promised in My Word. Corresponding to what has happened in the heavenlies, I have escalated your training. I need you to mature so that you will be able to minister to those who have not heeded My warnings for the past years.

"So many are fighting to make their world a better place. They have become so involved in coming against the progressing darkness that they have missed what is really happening. They have missed My call to wrap up with Me. Now they have no power to be light. They have never allowed Me to show them who Jesus really is. When the time comes, they will not be able to represent Him because they do not really know Him.

"You must be ready to show them Jesus. Embrace the trials that will change and strengthen you. Embrace Jesus. He is your only hope to overcome what is about to be brought forth in your world.”

Exodus 33:13-16 NIV

13) “If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.”

14) The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

15) Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.

16) How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”

Psalm 127:1 AMP

Except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; except the Lord keeps the city, the watchman wakes but in vain.

Isaiah 48:3  NIV

I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass.

Many richer portions of the character of God are revealed to us as we go deeper into His Word and as we spend time with Him. One of the most evident and outstanding revelations of God is that He really means what He says. He always follows through on what He has promised. That is quite sobering as we see prophecy being fulfilled before our eyes. How can we be so nonchalant about our relationship with Him, knowing what follows these seemingly everyday events?

2/03/22 The Real War

For us guys who need the bottom line, it’s time to talk straight about the real war that we are in. Our lives have been spent in skirmishes involving mortgages, jobs, bills to pay, where to send our kids to college, and a myriad of other things. All of them fall pale against the real war that we face as husbands and fathers in these times.

The real war – and if we lose it, our lives and the lives of our families are in grave danger - is the war against spending quiet time with the Lord. If lost, it is a war that will leave us with spiritual atrophy, insightful weakness, and false paths to follow, all in the midst of a season that requires clearer thinking than any time in history. Whether you know it or not, if you are like many other men, you are well on the path to losing that war at this very moment.

Most men spend little or no time waiting on God to find direction for their lives as Jesus did. Most men usually spend about an hour reading the word and praying about some laundry list or special need. Then they say a closing prayer and think they are equipped for the day’s challenges. The idea of spending hours each day simply waiting on God is incomprehensible to the ordinary Christian man. The idea of making prayer closet attendance the priority of each day is unthinkable. Sitting quietly in adoration before the Lord in His throne room for hours under His anointing is an experience rarely, if ever, pursued by the Christian man of today.

Men, the real war you are involved in - whether you like it or not - is the war against your time with God to hear His heart, and to know His plans and your part in them. Every emergency and priority in your life is screaming for your attention. Every task, job, bill, soccer game, theater ticket, or house repair is out to enslave you and nullify your real effectiveness in leading your family and yourself to spiritual safety when the world walks around in chaos, confusion, and fear. Who is winning the war you’re involved in today?

Let’s talk more!

2/02/22 Far from the Heart of God

“Delight yourself in the things that delight My heart. Become deeply involved in the situations to which I lead you. Invest yourself. No longer remain passive about the world around you. I want you to become passionate about your life and the people to whom I send you. Become passionate about My Word.

"You have lost your first love. Your heart has become hardened in a time when I need people to see the heart of Jesus in you. Shake off your complacency. I need your heart of fire about My ways, not your cold, complacent compliance. Wake up or you will miss My purpose for you. The enemy of My ways is not at rest. You sleep while he makes inroads into the hearts of those who have not heard because you have not told them. How can you not care?”

Esther 4:13-14 AMP

13) Then Mordecai told them to return this answer to Esther. Do not flatter yourself that you shall escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews.

14) For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall arise for the Jews from elsewhere, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion?

Psalm 106:12-15 AMP

12) Then [Israel] believed His words [trusting in, relying on them]; they sang His praise.

13) But they hastily forgot His works; they did not [earnestly] wait for His plans [to develop] regarding them,

14) But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness and tempted and tried to restrain God [with their insistent desires] in the desert.

15) And He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their souls and [thinned their numbers by] disease and death.

Proverbs 29:1 AMP

He who, being often reproved, hardens his neck shall suddenly be destroyed—and that without remedy.

Proverbs 29:21 AMP

He who pampers his servant from childhood will have him expecting the rights of a son afterward.

Most of us become so mesmerized by the cares of our lives that we cease to place our greatest importance on the cares of our Lord. We may appear to be following our Father’s will by fellowshipping or throwing money at some cause; but our hearts are most of the time far from the heart of our Father. Eventually, our first heart zeal becomes atrophied. We spiritually zone out and cannot be moved by anything other than those things that directly concern us.

Sensitivity toward the heart of God is the inward desire of the compassionate heart. This heart cannot be satisfied until God’s heart is satisfied upon the completion of all things. It drives a person to whatever end will satisfy Father God’s heart and allow others to see Him. Those with a compassionate spirit unconditionally surrender all control of their lives to the Lordship of Jesus and joyfully embrace a life of self-denial.

Wake me up to Your ways, Lord,

Jim Corbett
