10/24/22 Absolute Dependence

“Most of My church is not understanding the flow of My anointing in their midst. I am using the submitted lives of their brothers and sisters in Christ to allow them to open their eyes and make proper choices. I flow more in how someone lives than in what they say. Often I flow through those who seem to have nothing, but who really have the greatest gift one can have - absolute dependence on Me. Sometimes I flow through the benevolence of those to whom I have given great resources to share with those who speak truth from Me. Other times I flow in a warm hug, a pleasing smile, or an understanding ear.

"Too often those who have little discernment mistake charisma for an anointing, wasting My time and resources on emotional, ear-tickling appeals and self-serving presentations. Soon every teaching, except for the ones that flow from My presence through lives lived to honor Me, will be considered the empty, clanging cymbals that they really are.

"You, My remnant in training, hold fast to what you are becoming.  You keep on surrendering to Me with all your heart, especially during those more difficult refining times. You keep on cherishing those things that I am teaching you to cherish. Others may consider the deep, inner work that I am doing in you to be of little consequence, because their eyes can only see through their own bankruptcy. You be assured that I am building true wealth in you because of your submission to the trials placed before you.

"Soon you will provide for many because you will be trusted with My full anointing, one that holds the full presence of My might. Together you will be a mighty wave flowing with Me, accomplishing My will, because you have been refined in the fire of My hand upon you. I love you.”

Jeremiah 2:13 NIV

“My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.”

Heb. 13:5b AMP

…for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]

I received this letter from a wealthy saint who is in the refiner’s fire. She is being made into a worthy vessel, capable of carrying the living presence of the Lord to many very soon. I present her life as a testimony to encourage the many of you who are also being refined by the Lord during this time. Be encouraged; you are being prepared for a wedding. Here is a portion of this astounding testimony of submission.

“…  I have been living out of my car …    There were times where the discouragement tried to beat me down, but God never left my side, and always brought to me what I needed…

… “I was ill the past 19 months.  In and out of the hospital.  Bed ridden for months on end, waiting for help from doctors.  During that time, I found, lost, found, and lost places to live.  My friends helped when they could, and I was so weak after my last operation that it's taken all the way up to now to be healthy enough to look for a job.”

Lord, please give me eyes to see and appreciate those who are being made wealthy in You,

10/24/22 Honoring God

As I read through the Word, there are many ways in which we are to honor God. In a nutshell, I believe that honoring our Father in heaven is an attitude of the heart. I know that statement is not a lightning flash revelation, but it is something to be considered as we husbands and fathers go about the business of being an example to our families.

One of the foremost ways that I see of honoring God is found in the heart words of Jesus, when He said that He did nothing of Himself, but everything He did was of His Father in heaven. That's quite a statement. Most of us tough, independent guys gloss over those words, never really understanding the profound impact they would have on our lives if we followed them in everything we do.

Think of the major direction shift our lives would take if we refused to do anything, I mean anything, unless we did it only after we knew that what we did was in our Father's perfect will. I am convinced that would be one of the highest honors we could give Him.

Honoring God by simply finding His heart before we move in any direction would have more impact on our lives and the lives of those around us than we could ever imagine. The understanding that we are paying Him the highest honor we can give, if waiting on Him becomes one of our highest goals, is a challenge that most of us really need to consider. Will you?

10/22/22 Wholly Holy

“You need to desire to be holy. I want you to press in. It is not out of reach. For too many years, those who do not know My heart and those who do not know My Word have lied to each other and to you. They have proclaimed that holiness is unreachable. The cross has given you new life, My kind of life. Jesus has gone before you to show you the life that I would give you after His work was completed. Do you think that I would waste His life and settle for mediocre results for such a great price?

"Stop listening to lies. Dig in. Go for it with Me. I will show you what I have provided for you in My Word. I will implement holiness in you if you fully surrender to Jesus. Together We will honor the wonderful work that has been accomplished for you from the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan, through the cross, past the grave, and beyond His resurrection. His great work provides all that is needed for you to become all that I have planned for you.”

Romans 12:1 NIV

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God…

1 Cor. 1:2 NIV

To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified to Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ - their Lord and ours.

Hebrews 10:14 NIV

…because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

1 Peter 1:15-16 NIV

15) But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;

16) for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.

So many times we forget what has been provided for us at the cross of Jesus Christ. Often we really don’t care. The things of this life so consume us that the things of God often take second place or are completely ignored.

Father God has planned a wonderful life for those who have given their lives to Jesus and choose to serve Him fully. He has wondrous things in store for us, if we would only seek Him and find His desires for our lives.

Help me find Your truth, Lord,

10/22/22 Angry at God

In many years of helping people work through their problems – especially men, I have often heard the words, "I'm angry at God" because they blamed Him for something. For a long time, it never dawned on me how ridiculous that statement is. Now, when I hear those words, I think of two things in response.

First, I want to sarcastically say, "That’ll show Him!" As if we were significant enough for our opinion to matter! Just think of the audacity of anyone having the overwhelming pride to call the One True Living God to task for anything He chooses to do or anything the accuser thinks He has done. Consider the idea of a created being calling out his Creator! What a messed-up attitude and perspective!

Next, I am reminded of how far we've fallen. Think of it! The God of the universe - the Almighty God who simply spoke and all the endless regions of space were filled with His heart designs - the God Who is so magnificent that it was impossible to even look upon Him until He created Himself in bodily form. That God is the One we choose to be angry at. How low have we placed Him in our prideful hearts? How small have we made Him in our eyes? It seems that we have created a god that we think is supposed to serve us rather than serving an awesome God who has created us, in part, to serve Him. It's really time to get on our faces and repent!

10/21/22 Be Ready to Bless

“Bless someone today! Make an act of kindness to someone My priority for you today. Be led from your heart but wait for Me to tell you whom you are to bless. You may be surprised to whom I call you to show My love. Be ready!”

Rom. 12:9-21 NIV

9) Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

10) Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.

11) Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.

12) Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

13) Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

14) Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

15) Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

16) Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

17) Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.

18) If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

19) Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

20) On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

21) Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

To do what the Father’s Heart is suggesting means that I must take my eyes off myself and even off the tasks that are my priority today. I am to seek Him as to the person I am supposed to bless. It should be the priority of my day. Then again, it should be the priority of every day if I truly follow Jesus.

If I forget to intentionally bless someone, if my blessing is an inconvenience or costs me nothing, or if I refuse to bless the one that the Lord chooses for me, it will reveal pretty much about my priorities and my obedience level, won’t it? If the idea of blessing someone else is new to me, it sure reveals my heart and the depth of my walk with the Lord.

Show me who and how, Lord,

Jim Corbett
