3/28/23 Living for Others

The slogan the Lord has given us for our MASH United ministry is “Living for Others with Brothers We Trust.” Living for others is something we do because it’s very much on the heart of God. It’s a goal for any man who says he’s devoted himself to Jesus. Living for yourself is diametrically opposed to the way Jesus lived.

Finding brothers we can trust is where it gets a little dicey. Most men live with surface friendships, unless we’re driven to trust one another by mutual need, like combat situations or childhood friendships that continue into adulthood. In today’s society of throwaway friendships, few stand the test of time.

God, however, is in the process of developing kinsmen friendships and covenant relationships. These associations are God-welded relationships, where two or more walk together to overcome the world and its ways in the seasons to come. They are Holy Spirit-empowered alliances that will provide the opportunity for all involved to live for the best interests of the others while accomplishing God’s plans.

As a husband and father walking through the challenges that affect your family, be on the lookout for those men who function with the same heart as David’s mighty men. Prepare to have men brought into your life that are dedicated to God first, and trained to live out the heart of Jesus toward others. Prepare yourself to be the same kind of trusted friend. God will build these relationships; our job is to surrender to His will so we can become a trusted friend to those He sends our way.

3/27/23 Dabbling at the Perimeter

“I desire more for you than how you are functioning now. Why won’t you move from the sidelines of logic, carnal wisdom, and business savvy and enter into My faith life? Human reasoning will always be shallow at best. Your worldly, logical counsel limits Me and My servants. I have given you much to do because you have asked to be a steward of much. I have brought those in need to you. Now you lord My resources over those I send your way.

"You are dabbling at the perimeter of My work, when I want you to be part of a mighty move and pour what I have given you into others. You work from a base of pride because of your position among people. In your own mind you have become important, but you are really doing little for Me compared to what I have in mind. You need to remember that you are going to answer to Me for what I have given you.

"Begin to pour My resources into My work with zeal. I desire that you become a limitless fountain, not a cask that can be emptied. I am waiting for you to submit fully to My plans. Discard your own ways. Break loose and move in faith. I desire to move through you in a mighty way, but I will be able to really use you only when you have My heart and you are functioning in My wisdom.”

II Chr. 16:9a AMP

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him.

Ps. 111:10 AMP

The reverent fear and worship of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom and skill…; a good understanding, wisdom, and meaning have all those who do [the will of the Lord].

Luke 12:42-44, 48b NIV

42) The Lord answered, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time?

43) It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns.

44) I tell you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.”

48b) “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.”

Ja. 2:26 AMP For as the human body apart from the spirit is lifeless, so faith apart from [its] works of obedience is also dead.

God is raising up a faith people who are moving in the wonder of Jesus and discarding the logic of the world. He is using those who have been with the Father enough to hear His heart and move only when He says to move. Human reason can only carry the work of the Lord as far as logic will allow it to go. Faith, combined with Godly vision and implemented by learned obedience, is limitless. In these coming times, those who wait on the Lord to hear His heart and then step out in faith will accomplish mighty works, as the prideful unknowingly reel in their helplessness.

3/27/23 Why Were You Born?

Each one of us has been given a specific purpose for our lives. In the eyes of our Lord, who we become really matters. What we do for Him has eternal impact on others. He likes that.

As husbands and fathers, we often forget that He cares about our wives and children in the same way. Their relationship with Him really matters. The significant lives they lead will not only bode well for them when they face Him, but they will impact many for the kingdom of God.

You, as a husband and father, have been placed in the very important position of directing and affecting the outcome of their lives through your influential office and the power of the Holy Spirit. You have the power to help create the atmosphere that gives them the freedom to become all they can be in Christ. You can love your wife as Christ loved the church, laying down your life for her. You can bless her comings and goings as He would, so that she understands her value.

As you seek the Lord on behalf of your children, you can create favorable influences on them to guide them in the paths the Lord has determined. You can lovingly walk with them until they have the spiritual power to walk with the Lord themselves. You have the office! You have the power through the Holy Spirit! You have the favor of God because you are in line with His heart and His Word. Time to get to it!

3/25/23 A New Breed of Priests

“Never judge the amount of anointing that I have placed on any of My children based on the way they look. It is time for the pompous, arrogant ministers, who have misused My Word for their own gain, to be ignored for who they are. They pervert My Gospel and cause others to do the same. Slick talk and eloquent speeches never cause heartfelt changes in the lives of those who need to hear what I am saying.

"You are My vessels, a new breed of priests. You have bought gold refined in the fire and can no longer be tempted by the world and its ways. You have paid the price to know Me intimately. Because you have been in low, unassuming places and have often had a desperate need of Me, you now own what you are called to tell others. My Word is formed deeply in your heart. My Spirit is the director of your ways. The world may ignore you because you appear ordinary. Most of My church will discard you because you have little for them to admire, but I am about to do exceptional things through you. Quietly, calmly, you will minister My Word in dunamis power because of your humbled lives. Truth will come forth because of your obedience. I am pleased. Watch what I do through you.”

Behold, you desire truth in the inner being; make me therefore to know wisdom in my inmost heart.

Hosea 4:6 AMP

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge…

Luke 11:52 AMP

Woe to you, lawyers (experts in the Mosaic Law)! For you have taken away the key to knowledge; you did not go in yourselves, and you hindered and prevented those who were entering.

Luke 12:1 NIV

Meanwhile, when a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples, saying: “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.”

I’ve often wondered what Jesus must think about all the tremendous opportunities the church has had to present the Gospel in this country, and what we’ve done with them. The end result of many years of the best facilities and communication tools is a “bless me” religion that is weak and powerless against our own sin and limited in presenting the true character of Jesus to a dying world. How did that happen?

No matter what has been, our Father is concerned about what is about to be. He is raising up a people who are tired of surface religion, finished with hypocrisy in their own lives, and desiring only truth. He is calling out those who have heard the call to holiness and have determined to glorify Him with their lives rather than simply present empty words and cold preaching to those who are dying. He is stirring up the spirits of those who can no longer be satisfied in remaining as they are. They covet the truth of God’s Word for their very being. He is calling for a holy people, ready to present the Word in truth.

Take me there, Lord,

3/25/23 Time is of the Essence

How much time do you think we have before our world changes to the point that we no longer have the freedoms we have today? How much time can you guarantee you’ll have with your wife or children? When is the proper time for you to make the changes needed to bring your family to wholeness? Should you start after that next important business project is completed? How about once that promotion comes through? Maybe after you have the time to spend with the Lord so you have His wisdom, you’ll put things in God’s order.

Take it from a man who threw away a better part of his life before he knew any better; time is of the essence! There are many days I wish I had said this or done that to invest in those who relied on me to live up to my calling as a husband and father. So many opportunities were wasted, opportunities that could’ve changed the life course of those involved. What I should have done then is impossible to do now for many reasons.

Now is the time to make whatever changes you need to make. Now is the time to show those who love and count on you how valuable they are in God’s eyes and in yours. Now is the time to do whatever is necessary to uphold your offices of husband and father in a way that pleases God. Tomorrow may be too late. Do it now! Delaying anything truly important - especially concerning the lives of those you love - is foolish.
