3/16/24 Stewardship

Stewardship begins with submission. Full submission does irreparable damage to the lower kingdoms and advances the kingdom of God immeasurably. As stewards of the Gospel and our families, there’s no better way to live properly than to get out of the way and allow Jesus to live His life through you. Your repentance of your old ways allows the ways of Christ to come forth in your life. The more you submit to His ways, the more trustworthy you become and the more you resemble Him.

Start wherever you can right now. Find out what the Lord is asking you to set aside in your life. Submit to His power to remove it from you. Watch with a spiritual excitement as His power overtakes the strangle hold that sin has had over you. Continue to submit to Him until every residue is gone, no matter how long it takes. Then, when the entanglement is removed, rejoice in the freedom you have through your participation in one more miracle that glorifies the work of Jesus. Rest there until He chooses to focus on your next limitation. Then move with Him against it until you’re free from it. Continue on in this manner until you delight only in His ways and are free from yours.

3/15/24 God’s Love in Action

“As the world grows darker, My people will shine brighter because of the love they have for Me, each other, and their enemies. This love has already been established in the heavenlies, and is about to be poured out in its fullness upon My people. Holy alliances will be made one with another. Kinsman friendships will be established that cannot be intruded upon by the vile jestings and coarse intrusions that are part of those who do not know Me. I call you to separate yourselves; but in that separation, I am also calling you, My children, to come together.

"Some of you know the bond of adversity, some know the bond of fleshly desire and adoration, some know the safety of a kindred spirit; but no one has known the heavenly bond of the holy alliance that will knit My bride together for My work to be done and for Me to pour My love upon them. Establish it in your hearts now. Those I call to Myself will know Me and each other with the love My Father and I have had from the beginning. Make no provision for the flesh in any relationships I bring your way. In My way, there’s safety, power, freedom, and love.”

Ps. 133:1 AMP

BEHOLD, HOW good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Prov.17:17 NIV

A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

John 13:34-35 NIV

34) “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

35) By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

John 15:10-13 AMP

10) If you keep my commandments, [if you continue to obey My instructions], you will abide in My love and live on in it, just as I have obeyed My Father’s commandments and live on in His love.

11) I have told you these things, that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy and gladness may be of full measure and complete and overflowing.

12) This is My commandment: that you love one another [just] as I have loved you.

13) No one has greater love [no one has shone stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends.

Isn’t  it interesting to watch God establish relationships? If you haven’t given it much thought, just know that this is one more area that works out best when put in His hands. He has a purpose for every relationship, and He has reasons for not wanting others established.

When I  go about the business of establishing any relationship on my own, more than likely for selfish reasons, I should  not be surprised when it doesn’t work out. If God, however, brings someone into my life and it is not working, more than likely my heart is not right.  I want my way, my desires, not His.

Periodically, I find myself wanting to befriend someone, but it just doesn’t  fall together. It is then that I need to remind myself that if it is God-ordained, He will bring that friendship into existence. He will make all of the necessary adjustments, heart modifications, and motive refinements to allow all things to fall in line.  He will orchestrate and finalize any other aspects of personality to smooth out the rough spots that stand in the way. He sees the total picture. He knows  the beginning and the end, the reasons and the consequences. We don’t.

In the coming seasons, it will become increasingly important that God is really in charge.  We will need to be able to trust the people within our sphere of friendships. There will be times that lives will depend on the ability to do so. At that time, whom would you like to have established the relationships in your life?

Bond us together in Your love, Lord,

3/15/24 Generations

Because our fathers, grandfathers, great grandfathers and many past generations of men have not understood their roles in life, we now live in a society of compromised husbands and fathers, who are also ignorant of the impact they have in everyday life. Most men are blissfully unaware that the unrest they see all around them is the direct result of the spiritually weak husbands and fathers in previous generations, as well as those in the present generation.

Marriages are cast aside when the going gets rough, because the value and purpose of marriage has never been taught to both husband and wife. Fatherless men roam the streets, fuming with anger, because they have little knowledge of who they are and who they’re supposed to be. Women reel in confusion because fathers have never taught them their value, nor loved them in the love of Christ. They cannot understand how a man is supposed to function, because their fathers were never taught how to function as a proper husband and father.

Men, it’s time to repent. It’s time to find out what the Lord’s idea of a man is all about. God is calling His men to study the character of Jesus, and then walk in the love and integrity of His life. Society is crying out for men to assume their true position. Marriages are in need of men who will fulfill their God-appointed roles. Sons and daughters need to live in an atmosphere of Christ’s kind of love, so they can see who Father God really is. This will help to break the curse of past family generations, which has produced confused men and women, who are incapable of thriving in a strong, godly, loving family. When we, as men, understand and walk in our roles in the power of the Holy Spirit, our wives and children will be free and encouraged to become all they can be in Christ and show Him to the rest of the world in their everyday lives. Isn’t that what we all want for them?

3/14/24 Represent Jesus

“Will you pour your life into others for Me? Will you act like Jesus in your world, so that they might see who He is and come to Me? He would care about those who are lost forever. He would never lose His focus because of the things of the world. He would have the same passion for souls that I have. He would love deeper, care more, and sacrifice without hesitation, all to fulfill My desire that none should perish. Why are you not doing the same? What has caused you to stumble? You even have difficulty loving those in My family. Return now to your first love. Think once again on what Jesus cared about. Think once again on what I care about. Love as We love. I have given you the heart of Jesus; now move in it!”

1 Cor. 11:1 NIV

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.

2 Cor. 5:20a NIV

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.

I want to flow with Your heart, Lord,

3/14/24 Not Your War

From the book, Manna Moments, by Jim and Merry Corbett

If you were going to go into battle and your enemy - numbered in the hundreds of thousands - stood before you in full battle array, what would you do?  What if, for some unknown reason, you had always thought that on the day of battle you would have to face such overpowering forces all alone? In your mind, from as far back as you could remember, you pictured yourself standing on this vast battlefield with nothing but whatever puny weapons you had in hand. Because the scene was played over and over for so many years, you had long ago given up any hope of victory. You knew that when the time would come, you were as good as defeated. It was simply a matter of going through the formality of losing big-time.

What if, however, when the actual day approached and you’re standing there with the raging enemy before you just as you had pictured it, someone from outside of your frame of reference approached you with a big smile and a hearty handshake. Delighted that he had arrived in time, he told you to turn around and see what they had brought to help you. As you did, you saw a much larger, immensely better-equipped army, ready and poised for battle in your stead. What would you do? Would you turn down the assistance? Would you fight with them, knowing that you personally would probably get hurt or killed?  Or would you graciously step aside and let them fight for you?

As obvious as the answer is, most of us have not made the right choice since we have met our Lord. We still take on the adversary, asking for whatever help that might be available, when we’re not even supposed to be in the battle. We have really missed what Jesus has done for us.
