Do you know that every human has been built to highly honor something? The enemy has camouflaged that basic need by distorting it in the minds of those who submit to him. He crafts that need into a desire to cherish relationships, personal comfort, vanity, money, fame, or a myriad of other lusts of the flesh available in his arsenal. No matter what they look like, they are simply ways of fulfilling the basic need to highly esteem something.

God intended that this desire be fulfilled by honoring Him above all else. When we do so, there is the ultimate fulfillment because that is why we have been created. It is the deepest longing of our nature. Only when we honor God is our desire complete. Everything else is a longing that can never be satisfied. It is a continual chase after that empty feeling deep inside each of us.

Man of God, if you want to find the ultimate fulfillment, and the toys, money, or success you thought would satisfy you haven’t done so, you need to turn your honor and esteem to God alone. As you do that, you will find full satisfaction in your heart and a completion of your deepest longings. That elusive chase will be over. You will finally be fulfilled.
