2/22/25 What We’ve Been Given

“You have no idea how much and by whom you are being observed. The heavenly hosts and demonic hoards are learning of Me through what I have done for you. They know who I am. They have seen My power. They understand absolute authority and eternal consequences for actions taken.

“Now, through My interaction with you, they are observing grace and mercy. They have witnessed the wonder of the cross and its redemptive power. You have access to Me whenever you need it because of the blood that was shed for you. If you could only understand what they understand, you would be forever grateful. You would not take your privileges as lightly as you do.”

Ephesians 3:10-12 AMP

10) [The purpose is] that through the church the complicated, many-sided wisdom of God in all its infinite variety and innumerable aspects might now be made known to the angelic rulers and authorities (principalities and powers) in the heavenly sphere.

11) This is in accordance with the terms of the eternal and timeless purpose which He has realized and carried into effect in [the person of] Christ Jesus our Lord.

12) In Whom, because of our faith in Him, we dare to have the boldness (courage and confidence) of free access (an unreserved approach to God with freedom and without fear).

Yah! We don’t get it. One day, when this time down here is all over and we are brought before our Father in heaven, we’ll understand the full impact of our astounding wealth because of the cross and its work. As I understand these and other verses, you and I have been given more than even the angelic beings. It’s time to wake up and smell the astounding aroma of our salvation.

Show me truth, Lord,

2/22/25 Circumstances

Few of us really understand how much circumstances rule our lives. Most of us men react to circumstances in the same way we did before we came to the Lord. We analyze the situation, check on the options, and then make the decision that seems best based on the known criteria. Few of us really understand how far that is from the way the Lord desires us to act.

Our Lord functions in the supernatural. His purposes are far from our way of thinking. As we are making decisions which seem best based on what we know, what if the Lord is using the circumstances to train us or those around us? What if He is not looking for the logical decision because He knows more about the ultimate result than we do? What if He wants you to do the illogical, even foolish, so your faith in Him can grow?

Often I have made a decision that seemed like a step of faith, thinking I was obedient to the Lord’s wishes, only to find myself in a boxed canyon with no way out. I had prayed, sought counsel and then moved, thinking that things would work out perfectly. When they didn’t, I thought I had missed God. God, on the other hand, had me just where He wanted me. I needed Him because I found myself with no answers. The circumstance had nothing to do with success or failure, but it had to do with my training. It had to do with the need for me to be out of answers and surrendering myself to Him - a much deeper work than I thought was being done.

Men, we are in training to hear God and move only where and when He desires to move. Our bottom line is answers. His bottom line is to make us more like Jesus, doing nothing of ourselves and trusting Him in all things. Will you trust Him wherever He leads?

2/21/25 Of Great Consequence

“If you hold Me in the highest esteem, if you make My will your priority in life, if you covet Our time together and allow nothing to interfere with Our fellowship, if you rely on the truth of My Word and apply it in whatever you do, if you submit fully to Jesus and the work that was accomplished on the cross, you will always walk in the safety of My presence.

“You will know the plans I have for you. You will understand My will in all situations. Your life will be in order, and you will have a continuous peace, knowing that I am with you. You will be called blessed. Others will seek you out. You will impact your world and the people that I send you in a profound way. Your life will be of great consequence.”

Psalm 16:11 AMP

You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.

Psalm 25:12-14 NIV

12) Who, then, is the man that fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.

13) He will spend his days in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.

14) The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.

Isaiah 26:3 AMP

You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.

Amos 5:4b AMP

Seek Me [inquire for and of Me and require Me as you require food] and you shall live!

Let’s see, we allow most everything to take priority over our time with our Father God. We sometimes (most of the time?) choose man’s ways above God’s ways. We really don’t believe that the Bible is true all the time and can be counted on in every situation we face; and we have difficulty believing that the Lord will be there to reveal His plans for us when we seek Him. Then we wonder why we have little spiritual power and our lives are out of order. Hmmm!

Thank You for inviting us to come to You, Lord,

2/21/25 The Purpose of Challenges

As part of His covenant with us, God has promised to give us every opportunity to become like Jesus. He allows us to go through challenges and devises means for us to come to the end of ourselves.  He guides and directs our responses to those challenges as barometers of our progress toward holiness.

Let’s talk facts. Although this life is not about us, this life we live has great importance in God’s eyes. His whole plan is the perfecting of those who will be spending eternity with Him. As we focus on Jesus, God is focusing on us to make us into His image. He is orchestrating opportunities for us to make decisions. Those decisions become more and more like the decisions that Jesus, in His holiness, would make as we submit to God’s hand. Without opportunities to come to the end of ourselves and turn to God for help, we would never experience our Father’s keeping power over us. Our need imparts God’s wealth to us as we surrender.

As men after the Savior’s heart, we understand that challenges are only spiritual opportunities to grow in Christ. As those who do want to become like Jesus, we have learned to embrace any and all challenges that come our way as acts of love, not as reprimands. In doing so, we release the power of the Holy Spirit to move in concert with God’s plan for our lives as we grow closer to Him from challenge to challenge. Will you pay the price?

Let’s talk more!

2/20/25 Resting in His Presence

“I have chosen to invest in you! You are very valuable to Me just as you are, but I desire to impart Myself to you because I love you. My investment is the best gift I can give to you. Your response and your acceptance of My gift will reap for you eternal benefit. Today, just rest in My love for you. Tuck in someplace and enjoy My life as I give Myself to you. Be refreshed. Rest from the cares of your life. Trust that I have them under control. Let’s just be together because it is right to do!”

Jeremiah 1:5a NIV

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…

Matt. 6:25-26 AMP

25) Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing?

26) Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they?

Luke 10:38-42 NIV

38) As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him.

39) She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.

40) But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

41) “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things,

42) but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

God imparts Himself to you when you simply sit in His presence.  It is a time to commune with the Lord in silence, sitting quietly and peacefully with no agenda on your part except to be there with Him, which allows Him to minister His life to your inner being. Nothing is more important to the Lord. Nothing is more important to you.  It is amazing what changes can occur as we are seemingly “doing nothing”!

Thank You for inviting me to be with You, Lord,

Jim Corbett
