9/09/20 I Don’t Have Time

I once knew a person who needed some major changes in her life.  When discussing all the things she needed to address, she let out a sigh in exasperation. “My days are consumed with just surviving,” she lamented. She continued saying something like, “I don’t think I can take on one more thing, no matter how important it seems.”

In today’s very challenging times, most moments in our lives seem to be consumed either by the demands of the world or those obligations we have placed on ourselves. It also seems that taking on a project as gargantuan as rebuilding a fragmented family or a marriage that needs attention is impossible. Most men choose to address the urgent rather than change direction to give attention to the important.

Herein lies the quandary. In the case of a Christian marriage or a family that needs to serve the Lord, the urgent is also the most important. There is nothing more urgent than restoring every element of your marriage that has lost God’s presence on it. Your marriage is supposed to be the foundation from which everything else springs. Without the safety of what God has put together, you as a man are vulnerable to any attack of the enemy. Your marriage must become whole to overcome the challenges ahead.

In the same way, if your children are in need of rescue, there is no more important concern on the heart of God than for them to be serving Him with all their hearts. Anything short of that must be given much face time before Him on their behalf. Along with your marriage, it is your job priority, your calling, and your anointing ahead of any other area. Even serving Him in any other form of ministry should take second place to your ministry to your wife and children.

Gentlemen, start your engines!

The Never-Changing Answer

Confusing sounds always accompany uncertain times. Many voices ring with half truths and hopeful or disparaging information, depending on the motives of the originators. Our world is without question going through times with no clear direction and certainly no real answers. Each day only brings more questions.

During these times we, as believers, have an amazing opportunity to share absolute, proven truth with people who are wide-eyed with fear and confusion. We have the never changing Word of God, a Word that all of us can rely on no matter how many uncertain answers appear. Now is not the time to shrink from helping others; it's a time to find ways to give them something they can rely on.

Getting Ready for Action

Have you ever seen a movie where a vehicle is stripped of all its unnecessary weight, so it's lighter and can go faster for a specific mission? We feel like that with our ministry.

Because of the rapid changes in our world and the challenges they present, the Lord has had us scale back our plans and decide what we can streamline to make our cause more directed and purposeful during these very crucial times.

Although it's important to keep the overall plan in mind, the immediate need requires us to focus on having answers for the wondering heart who needs a reminder to seek the Lord with a repentant heart and trust in Him wholeheartedly with everything that concerns them. We are in the process of finding the most efficient way to do that.

9/08/20 As You Minister

“Do you know that you are ministering to Me in many ways? You are! I especially love it when you honor and praise Jesus. It thrills Me when you give honor to His Name and the work that He did and still does. I am delighted when you are sensitive to the leadings of the Holy Spirit and respond to His comfort. Continue to hunger and thirst after My Word. It is life and nourishment to you. As you grow and become more involved with My heart, bless others. As you minister to those who need My love and what has been done by Jesus, you bless Me. I love the way you are growing in Me. Keep up the good work! I love you!”

2 Chr. 16:9 NIV

“For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him...”

Psalm 20:6-7 AMP

6) Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand.

7) Some trust in and boast of chariots and some of horses, but we will trust in and boast of the name of the Lord our God.

Amos 3:3 KJV

“Can two walk together except they be agreed?”

“Nobody ain’t never loved me,” Train whimpered as memories of rejection and abandonment started to visibly wrack his gigantic frame.  “Nobody ain’t never loved me like that.”

After several minutes, Train stood erect again, sobbing and wiping his tear-streaked face with his calloused, massive hand.  He turned toward Tom.

“I gotta do somethin’ to thank Him for what He done.  Can you tell Him for me, Preacher Man?  Can you tell Him thanks for what He done?”

Tom looked up at the most broken man he had ever seen.  Without hesitation, Tom put his hand on Train’s arm - something unthinkable just a short time ago.

“I think Jesus would like it very much if you’d tell Him yourself, Train.  I think He would be very pleased to have you talk to Him.”

Shocked at the thought that God might listen to something he might say, Train stepped back a couple of steps in disbelief.  Then he looked directly into Tom’s eyes.  Tom looked directly back into his, assuring him that it would be all right.

“Do I gotta go to a church or somethin’?” Train questioned.

“No,” Tom smiled.  “We could just sit here on the curb and you could just tell God what’s on your heart.”

Tom started to move toward the curb to sit down when he noticed that Train had dropped into a kneeling position right where he’d been standing.  Tom moved next to him, giving a quick look to see if anyone was watching.  Train knelt silently for a long moment, his head bowed and his hands folded in front of him, resting loosely against his body.  Quietly he began.

“God...”  he hesitated to wipe the tears from his eyes.  “God, this is me, Train.  I ain’t never talked to you before ‘cuz I been afraid...”

I’m so grateful that You made a way for me, Lord,

9/08/20 The Highest Office

Do you realize that as a man, you have been given the highest office in the most important institution Father God has ordained? God created the family unit to produce and nurture every person who will eventually hold every office in every land in the world. Because of that, there is no bigger honor you can pay Him than to dedicate your family to His service. You are responsible to Him for the atmosphere you have created in your home to help your family become all they can be in Christ.

In a world set on destroying the family and minimizing the importance of the husband and father roles, you can overcome the enemy’s plan. In Christ, you have been given every tool you will need to fulfill your office with power and authority against any scheme planned against you and your wife and children.

Today is the day for you to gain a new perspective of who you are in Christ, and what role you have been given by God. It’s time to realize the importance of your life and the impact it has in God’s economy. Shake off the mundane attitude the world has fostered, and embrace the wonder of what our Father has done. Become a vessel that hears His heart for your family, and is willing to do whatever it takes to have them become the light of Christ in a dark world.
