1/30/23 Making Way for God’s Kingdom

“When I call you to birth a needed work for Me, you are at war. You are pushing aside the kingdom of darkness and making room for My light to cause havoc in the spiritual realm. You are setting the stage for imbedded bondages to be broken in others. You are building platforms for others to walk closer to Me. Until you understand the intensity of what is being accomplished, you will wonder what kind of trial has beset you. Those around you will not understand the weight of what you are going through. At times, it will seem as if even I have left you. It may seem that I do not hear your prayers. That is not so.

Making way for My kingdom is violent warfare in the heavenlies. Much is being accomplished that cannot be seen by you or by others. Few of the real desires of My heart are being carried out because My people are unwilling to pay what it costs them to overcome, especially paying the price for others. Do not give up. Wait on Me. I am with you. Many will be set free to follow Me with all of their hearts because of your willingness to remain steadfast when there seems to be no end to the season you are in. Once your task is given My life, you will rejoice. I will be able to say, “Well done.” Do it for Me. Do it for others. It is what Jesus has done and would do. It is the way of the cross!”

Haggai 1:7-10 AMP

7) Thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways (your previous and present conduct) and how you have fared.

8) Go up to the hill country, and bring lumber and rebuild [My] house, and I will take pleasure in it and I will be glorified, says the Lord [by accepting it as done for My glory and by displaying My glory in it].

9) You looked for much [harvest], and behold, it came to little; and even when you brought that home, I blew it away. Why? says the Lord of hosts. Because of My house, which lies waste while you yourselves run each man to his own house [eager to build and adorn it].

10) Therefore the heavens above you [for your sake] withhold the dew, and the earth withholds its produce.

Matthew 11:12 NIV

“From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.”

Matt.16:19  AMP

I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful ) on earth, must be whatever is already bound in heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful ) on earth must be what is already loosed in heaven.

Gal. 4:19 NIV

My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you...

One of the most misunderstood and yet one of the most foundational forms of prayer is waiting on God. The simplest definition of waiting on God would be a continual life devotion to God and an immovable expectation and awareness that He will intervene in your life.

There was no separation between the life of Jesus and the life of His Father in heaven. He did nothing of Himself, and more importantly, He wanted to do nothing of Himself. He had placed His life as an offering before His Father, so the Father could do with it as He pleased.

With that heart position, His life became a continual prayer. The perfect will of His Father in the heavenly (spiritual) realm became manifested in the physical realm unhindered. As the perfect vessel, Jesus imparted the very nature of His Father to the world.

Today, “waiting on God” is our portion of that kind of life, whether for our own needs or on behalf of someone else. As we devote ourselves to our heavenly Father, wanting only His will as our life’s purpose, we become the same kind of vessel to accomplish His will to be “done on earth as it is in heaven.”

Waiting for the will of the Father to be revealed to us and then waiting for it to be accomplished through us is truly the blessed life. Think of it!  In our everyday, ordinary occurrences that we call “life,” we are actually conduits for the will of God to be accomplished through us. All we need do is listen and follow as our only purpose for living.

I am willing to pay the price, Lord,

1/30/23 Life or Death

As a husband and father, you have the choice of giving either life or death to those around you. Your office is designed for you to lead those you steward. Because it comes with astounding authority in the spiritual realm, the decisions you make and the way you live impacts others more than the physical eye can see. Your positive, biblical way of approaching all that you do brings life to others. It brings a spiritual order which allows them the freedom to flow in the life of Christ.

Take the time to observe families. Look at those that are in order, meaning those who flow in harmony with the Gospel. Watch the children of the family with a father who lives and loves as Christ does. Watch the wife of a man who has chosen to lay his life down for her. You will see lives being lived full of the wonder of the Holy Spirit at work in them. They walk in the life of Christ and give away life to others.

Now observe the family where the man is absent or not living the kind of life Jesus lived. By the world’s standards, they may outwardly appear somewhat in order; but spiritually, they are most likely dead. Their impact on those around them has no real life to it. Their spiritual fruit feeds no one. They can only share the death they themselves have been given.

Which kind of leader are you? Are you capable of giving the healthy life of Christ to your wife and children? Can they rely on you to be spiritually astute enough to cover their needs before God when necessary? Do they know that you are their spiritual covering in a dark world, so that they can venture into the deep things of God? Are you living the life of Christ before them so they know how to live it themselves?  Because of the spiritual responsibility of your office, whether you know it or not and whether you want it or not, you are either giving away life or death to those God has given you to lead. Which do you choose?

Let’s talk more!

01/30/2023 Important Update

January 30, 2023

Dear Friends,

It’s finally available! Because of the continual onslaught against Biblical truth and the many who have found themselves confused – even shipwrecked, we have added a new page on our website that deals with the need for discernment in the church. The enemy is diligently at work to derail believers and cause them to question and misinterpret God and His Word by introducing subtle, yet insidious false doctrine in many different forms.

Uninformed believers are far more vulnerable to deception than they realize. It’s imperative now more than ever to be aware of the teachings, books, etc. and people that spread biblically unfounded ideas and methods, so you can flee from what doesn’t represent the Lord and help others do the same.

Every believer who desires to use Biblical truth to guide them through the times and seasons ahead will do well to make discernment a priority in their lives. If you don’t have a plan already in place, you may want to use our discernment page as a starting point. Obviously, the Bible is your go to source in all things. It’s what God gave us to properly navigate His universe, and it’s vital to be consistently exposed to the truth of His Word. However, it’s very helpful to check things out when questions arise and familiarize yourself with information from people who have encountered deception within the church and wanted to warn believers of their findings. You can then seek the Lord and determine what you’re going to do with that information.

If you’re a believer looking for truth, we highly suggest you check out our discernment page. Just go to the dropdown menu on our website, www.tfrc.info,  and click on “Times and Seasons Discernment.”

May the Lord bless you with His truth, wisdom, and protection in these crucial times,

Jim and Merry Corbett

1/28/23 Rest from Your Concerns

“I ask you to recall the many times that I have been faithful to you in the past. Apply My faithfulness to your present situation. Then be assured that I will never fail you in the future. I am your faithful God. More than that, I am your loyal Friend and Sovereign Lord. I know the end from the beginning of your life. I know who you are, where you are going, and what is to become of you. Rest from your concerns. I am for you and never against you. You are Mine and I love you.”

Psalm 46:1 AMP

God is our Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble.

Psalm 46:10 NIV

“Be still, and know that I am God...”

Psalm 150:1-6 AMP

1) Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the heavens of His power!

2) Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to the abundance of His greatness!

3) Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with lute and harp!

4) Praise Him with tambourine and [single or group] dance; praise Him with stringed and wind instruments or flutes!

5) Praise Him with resounding cymbals; praise Him with loud clashing cymbals!

6) Let everything that has breath and every breath of life praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

5) Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

6) in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

A friend of mine once said that there has never been an emergency meeting of the Trinity concerning my life. I forget if that originated with him or if it is a saying that’s been around for some time. Nevertheless, it really helped me to remember my Father’s faithfulness. It gave me confidence to search His Word and then rest in His promises, which resulted in a peace to continue on no matter what my outward circumstances might be. It is time to remember one more time that our God is a faithful God. Jesus is alive and remains our advocate. The Holy Spirit is our comforter.

Thank You for everything, Lord,

Jim Corbett
