11/23/19 Power for Service

I was reading about David's mighty men the other day and one thing struck me as never before. The "mighty" part of these men was used for service. I know that sounds a little obvious, but when you think about it, what else should a powerful ability to do anything be used for? It would only justify itself if it were used to help someone less powerful, or even helpless. On the other hand, power misused is so very detrimental to those on whom it's applied.

Let's talk about the power we, as men of God, have been given. Holding the highest offices of husband and father - offices dear to our Father's heart, we, in the clearest sense of the word, have God's ear. He is for us. His power is available to us. His compassion bears witness to our needs in supplying whatever is useful for the proper stewardship of our families. That's some pretty powerful stuff!

Men, the next time your marriage hits a bump in the road, think about how important its restoration is to God and then move as He directs to heal it. The next time you see that one of your children could use some help in making decisions, or help out of a harmful place they've gotten into, what better assistance could they have than a father on his face before God - the One who cares more for the child than even the father does. Think about the power available to overcome these situations. Then think about the way you may have ignored, misused, or simply not applied it to help those you love. If you are convinced of its availability, how are you going to use that power now?

11/22/19 Crossroad Decisions

At times in our lives, we are faced with making pivotal decisions, which become crossroads that determine our path for the future. These chosen paths become a benchmark for the rest of our lives. All of our life choices are determined by the parameters of that crossroad decision.

In these last days, our Father is calling His men to make a crossroad decision for their marriage and family. Because of the darkness that is overtaking this dying world, He desires mighty men of valor to lead bright, significant family teams and be His light. In a world where there is no sure footing, these bright lights - filled and led by the Holy Spirit - will become guides to other families, helping them navigate perilous paths and hazardous challenges.

Is this day a crossroad decision time for you? As a husband and father being called by your Father in heaven to make the kind of personal changes needed to allow the Holy Spirit to move in your family unit, are you doing what it takes to help make your family available to be powerfully used? Are you willing to respond to the kind of training that will make you a mighty man of God capable of leading others to His safety? Look around, and then look at your family. Are you willing to do what it takes to be able to lead them to an overcoming life, or are you willing to allow them to become fodder for those who hate the things of God?

Men, it really is crossroad time! Old paths and old ways have little power to overcome the world as Jesus did. Our Father is waiting to equip everyone who is willing to submit to His hand of training. Are you going to be one of His mighty men of valor who leads a mighty family full of His Holy Spirit?

11/22/19 New in Christ

"It is My desire that you cease to exist as you once were, so that Christ can live His life through you. You have been made new in Christ. Your old nature has no place in My kingdom. It must pass away in the same way that everything not created in Christ will pass away.

"As a new creation, you have been formed for an eternal relationship with Me. Stop serving what is dying. Submit to the work of the cross. Allow My Holy Spirit to complete that work in you. He will bring forth true life!"

1 Cor. 15:50 NIV

I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

2 Cor. 1:8-10 NIV

8) We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life.

9) Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.

10) He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us...

2 Cor. 3:18 AMP

And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.

2 Cor. 5:17 AMP

Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ, (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

Jesus was brought into a world so perilous that children were killed at the whimsical edict of an evil king, crucifixions were as commonplace as morning walks, and people were held in slavery to ignorant teachers and foolish guides, yet He was absolutely fearless. His passionate love, His intimacy with His Father, and His zeal for imparting truth made Him "Teflon" in a world seething with infectious evil and eternal danger. His presence in any society was a gift of love from His Father God. We are in training to be the same kind of gift to those around us wherever our Father sends us.

Thank You for the gift of Jesus, so that I may be a gift to others, Lord,

11/21/19 The Same Today

"You need to understand whom I consider successful. Look in My Word. I came against the proud and exposed the haughty. Observe the life of Jesus. His humble presence frightened those who thought they had My heart figured out. I did things My way and confounded those who thought they were wise. They lost control. Most of My really successful people died in the arenas, lost their possessions for My sake, and touched others from prison.

"Those who would not be taught My ways judged those who were walking in them. It is the same today. Soon, however, that will change. I am raising up a holy bride in the midst of My church. She will not look successful in the eyes of most of those around her, but she will look and act like those who were successful before her. She will look and act like Jesus, while looking and waiting for Him."

Isaiah 48:3 NIV

"I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass."

Amos 3:3 KJV

Can two walk together except they be agreed?

1 John 2:6 AMP

Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself.

If you are in remnant, bridal training, more than likely you will be on the perimeter of most church activities for two reasons. One, you don't want to be part of the foolishness that goes on in the Name of Jesus; and two, those involved in it want to have little to do with you.

Even though it seems that taking a strong stand for Jesus, striving to be more like Him as your priority in life, and living a crucified life is a little thing; it is not little in the eyes of the Lord. You are in training. You are being prepared. Every word that is said against you, every action that is used to ridicule your sincerity, actually strengthens your resolve and refines your walk if you allow it to do so.

Jesus will not align Himself with a whorish heart - one that gets satisfaction from anything other than Him. The successful Christian does not have an easy road. It is strewn with challenges and hardships. The road, however, is the road to bridal purity. It is the road to the heart of Jesus.

Wanting to walk the right road,

11/21/19 Crapshoot

Are you just hoping you can continue what you're doing and have everything turn out for the best? Do you feel you've done all you can do, that your marriage is a quiet companionship, everything is OK because none of your children are in major trouble, and besides, you're just too busy to do anything about whatever might be wrong? Well, you're shooting craps. You've lost the war that's being waged against you, and you don't even know it.

Most men - even those who appear successful - live lives that have little to do with the life God has planned for them. God's purposes for marriage and raising children are far different than the accepted norm. Even His church has normalized what family guidelines are all about. Although there are many bright spots within the church - families who shine with the light and life of Christ, few can be held up as God-like examples to others. In God's economy, when it comes to family, good is not good enough. God is searching for examples He can use, examples of the image of the relationship between Christ and His Church.

Now is not the time to give up. Now is the time to repent of what is, and submit to the power of God to make the changes needed to become all that you and your family can be in Christ. God is waiting for His men to deny the plans the world has for families, and say "yes" to His plans. What do you say we go for it? Let's stop hovering around the "good enough" and get all the way into "tell me how deep you want me to go, Lord."

Let's talk more!
