It’s Time to Run and Hide

The world is falling apart! Things are getting really scary! There seem to be no answers and powerful people are letting things fall apart! There seems to be nothing stopping the riots, fires, and harmful laws!

Without question, it's time to run straight to our powerful, almighty Father God, jump on His lap, and hide in the folds of His garment. It's time to seek Him for every breath we take and every move we make. It's time to remember that HE is in charge of everything; no one else is. It's time to become the victorious people who follow only the One Who has overcome all things and now sits at the right hand of His Father. That's basic Christianity 101!

8/24/20 Real Power

Given that God has ordained the offices of husband and father as His highest offices, the most powerful position a man can take is on his knees for his family. I believe that no other position is dearer to the heart of God or garners more favor, because the family produces and fosters pastors, prayer warriors, and every conceivable worker for the Lord. God’s heart responds to a man praying for his own. (In case you think I’m overlooking something – yes, He also has a fervent spot in His heart as people pray for souls to come to know Jesus Christ!)

I think of David’s mighty men. His men understood warfare. His men were tried in battle and came out unbeaten, far more proficient than greater numbers of other warriors. They knew how to fight. They knew what it would take to win the battles for their king.

Most men today have no idea how important their position is. Most men give little thought to the probability that they’ve lost the most important battles of their lives as they see their families fall apart or, at the very least, become unproductive in the Lord’s work. Few men even consider that their wives or children are literally supposed to walk as Jesus walked, and that they are supposed to provide the atmosphere for them to do so.

Men, God intended you to be just like David’s mighty men in the war for your families. He is more than willing to respond with power to your requests for their ability to overcome the world. You are a man of power when you call upon His power on behalf of those you steward. Why are you not laboring for them as your priority work in this life? Paul said that he was in birth pangs until Christ - the character of Christ - was formed in others. Is that not supposed to be your heart for those you love?

8/24/20 A New Breed of Priests

“Never judge the amount of anointing that I have placed on any of My children based on the way they look. It is time for the pompous, arrogant ministers, who have misused My Word for their own gain, to be ignored for who they are. They pervert My Gospel and cause others to do the same. Slick talk and eloquent speeches never cause heartfelt changes in the lives of those who need to hear what I am saying.

"You are My vessels, a new breed of priests. You have bought gold refined in the fire and can no longer be tempted by the world and its ways. You have paid the price to know Me intimately. Because you have been in low, unassuming places and have often had a desperate need of Me, you now own what you are called to tell others. My Word is formed deeply in your heart. My Spirit is the director of your ways. The world may ignore you because you appear ordinary. Most of My church will discard you because you have little for them to admire, but I am about to do exceptional things through you. Quietly, calmly, you will minister My Word in dunamis power because of your humbled lives. Truth will come forth because of your obedience. I am pleased. Watch what I do through you.”

Behold, you desire truth in the inner being; make me therefore to know wisdom in my inmost heart.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge…

Woe to you, lawyers (experts in the Mosaic Law)! For you have taken away the key to knowledge; you did not go in yourselves, and you hindered and prevented those who were entering.

Meanwhile, when a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples, saying: “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.”

I’ve often wondered what Jesus must think about all the tremendous opportunities the church has had to present the Gospel in this country, and what we’ve done with them. The end result of many years of the best facilities and communication tools is a “bless me” religion that is weak and powerless against our own sin and limited in presenting the true character of Jesus to a dying world. How did that happen?

No matter what has been, our Father is concerned about what is about to be. He is raising up a people who are tired of surface religion, finished with hypocrisy in their own lives, and desiring only truth. He is calling out those who have heard the call to holiness and have determined to glorify Him with their lives rather than simply present empty words and cold preaching to those who are dying. He is stirring up the spirits of those who can no longer be satisfied in remaining as they are. They covet the truth of God’s Word for their very being. He is calling for a holy people, ready to present the Word in truth.

Take me there, Lord,

8/22/20 Your Children Are Your Ambassadors

When Jubilee was born, the Lord spoke to my heart about the legacy and ambassador she was meant to be for our family. Because we were to “train up a child in the way he should go,” we became a study of her. Who was she naturally formed by God to be?

After months of watching her innate tendencies, we developed a system to enhance the life skills that were natural to her. This system allowed her to function in freedom while she was being taught the things she would need to follow the Lord.

Within the system, there were two criteria she had to meet. The first was, how well is she representing the Lord? This was to be the top priority. The second was, how well is she representing our family, so that others can see who Jesus is through our family relationships? Those two criteria encompassed all she needed to grow straight and strong in the Lord, and it set the stage for those two priorities in life to become part of her everyday make-up.

Men, your offspring are your legacy. Who they are and how they function is a direct reflection on how much you have sought the Lord on their behalf. It doesn’t mean that everything will be perfect all the time and that they’ll function in Christ-like character every moment of their lives; but it does mean they have a chance to overcome the world because of your intercession with the Lord on their behalf. Your job is to teach them what you have learned in the throne room with God. His job is to do everything else in them so that Jesus shines through them. Thank You, Father!

8/22/20 In Step with God’s Purposes

“Remember the spiritual season that you are in. Remember with soberness the purpose for your comings and goings. In My economy, I am calling as many souls to Jesus as will come. At the same time, I am preparing a bridal heart in those who respond to My call to holiness. Most of My church is unaware of how close I am to heralding the end of all things as you know them. They are so busy attempting to gain more and preparing for better times that they have lost perspective.

"You, however, who desire to walk in step with My purposes and plans, shake off anything that distracts you from hearing Me clearly. You draw close to Me now. Hear My heart and recognize My Word being fulfilled in your midst. You will prosper if you respond to My call.”

Ephesians 1:17-19a NIV

17) I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

18) I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

19a) and his incomparably great power for us who believe…

So often the rising and falling tides of our world demand that we respond to them, sometimes rightfully so. Continuous response, however, removes our affections from heavenly places and lowers them to carnal thinking and responses in everything we do. We lose sight of what is really happening in the real world into which we have been born.

Because of our acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord, we have been born into a new spiritual world, which is governed by spiritual dynamics. We are spiritual beings, who exist temporarily in a physical world that no longer exists for us somewhere in our future. Should not our focus, then, be on the priorities and events of the world that will soon be our home, and not cater only to the demands and priorities of this decaying world?

Bring everything into proper focus, Lord,
