Week of 4/29/24 Scheduled Topics

Dear MASH Mornings Team,

Merry and I have been informed by women who are seeking the Lord that they are very interested in the man’s perspective of our Christian walk. They are listening to the MASH Mornings programs. After much prayer and counsel, we have decided to expand the topic selections for Mash Mornings to widen the scope of the topics we discuss. Because a man’s spiritual influence extends past marriage and family and includes all aspects of our walk with the Lord, we believe the Lord is leading us to utilize additional sources in our morning discussions.

As our world continues to change, it’s more important than ever that men embrace their God-given roles as the covering for the family and as strong influences in the church body and beyond. As we embrace these roles, our access to Holy Spirit-led insights and wisdom is needed more than ever, especially in our communities.

Starting this week, topics will come from the following sources: the MASH messages, the From Our Father’s Heart messages and our books - The Father Factor, A White Stone, The Elect, Manna Moments, and The Overcoming Life Guidebook. All these resources can be found under “books” on our website www.tfrc.info. We believe having all these resources available will stimulate in-depth conversations on a variety of topics that will benefit both men and women in their walk with the Lord and in reaching into their communities.

Please pray for wisdom as we select the topics for each week. We ask you to be patient with us as we navigate this new approach. Thank you for all you’re doing for this MASH outreach and for the body of Christ.

Lord bless you,

Jim and Merry Corbett

The most critical need of the church at this moment is men – the right kind of men, bold men. We languish for men who feel themselves expendable in the warfare of the soul because they have already died to the allurements of this world. Such men will be free from the compulsions that control weaker men. They will not be forced to do things by the squeeze of circumstances. Their only compulsion will come from within, or from above.

This kind of freedom is necessary if we are to have prophets again in our pulpits instead of mascots. These kind of men will serve God and mankind from motives too high to be understood by the rank and file of religious retainers who shuttle in and out of the sanctuary. They will make no decisions out of fear, take no course out of desire to please, accept no service for financial considerations, perform no religious acts out of mere custom, nor allow themselves to be influenced by the love of publicity or the desire for reputation.

The true church has never sounded out public expectations before launching its crusades. Its leaders heard from God and went ahead wholly independent of popular support or lack of it. They knew their Lords will and did it, and their people followed them - sometimes to triumph, but more often to insults and public persecution – and their sufficient reward was satisfaction of being right in a wrong world.

Another characteristic of a true prophet is love. The free man who has learned to hear God’s voice and dared to obey it has felt the moral burden that broke the hearts of the Old Testament prophets, crushed the soul of our Lord Jesus Christ, and wrung streams of tears from the eyes of the apostles.

The free man has nothing to protect, no ambition to pursue, and no enemy to fear. For that reason he is completely careless of his standing among men. If they follow him - well and good. If not he loses nothing that he holds dear. But whether he is accepted or rejected, he will go on loving his people with sincere devotion, and only death can silence his tender intercession for them.

Yes, if evangelical Christianity is to stay alive, it must have men again- the right kind of men. It must repudiate the weaklings who will not speak out, and it must seek in prayer and much humility the coming again of men of the stuff of which prophets and martyrs are made. God will hear the cries of His people as He heard the cries of Israel in Egypt, and He will send deliverance by sending deliverers. It is His way.

And when the deliverers come – reformers, revivalists, prophets – they will be men of God and men of courage. Such men will be baptized with the Spirit indeed and through their labors He will baptize others and send the long delayed revival.

From The Overcoming Life Guidebook page 7

The onslaught of lies against God—which is designed to minimize Him and cause Him to appear powerless, uncaring, and only for the ignorant and foolish—is alive and well everywhere you look. It is an intentional ploy of the enemy of their souls to rob people of their eternal home, and maneuver them into leading man-centered, blindly controlled lives while on this earth. It is also fashioned to pull those who follow Jesus into a weak, atrophied existence that appears uninteresting to those who need Him.

As those in the world war with one another and against anything or anyone that disagrees with their choices, those who truly understand what life is all about have fully surrendered to what Jesus has done. In doing so, they are tucked into the power of the Holy Spirit, capable of walking hand-in-hand above this life with their Father God through Jesus.

Our Father in heaven is looking for a holy people who are waiting for the return of Jesus Christ. What do you say we head wholeheartedly in His direction? What do you say we turn away from the world and its ways, a world where people are turning their backs on their only hope? What do you say we sell out, anticipating supernatural intervention in our lives and in the lives of those to whom we’re sent?

Our Father in heaven is looking for a holy people who are waiting for the return of Jesus Christ. What do you say we head wholeheartedly in His direction? What do you say we turn away from the world and its ways, a world where people are turning their backs on their only hope? What do you say we sell out, anticipating supernatural intervention in our lives and in the lives of those to whom we’re sent?

It’s time to remember our Father God is not only sovereign; He’s the unbeatable Almighty One Who is greater than the mind of man can conceive. He simply spoke the Word and the world and everything in it came into being. It’s also time to joyfully embrace the fact there is no power greater than that of the cross and the overcoming life Jesus lived, a life that’s available to all those who sincerely call themselves His.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to once and for all exchange your address in this world and take on a new address in the secret place of the Most High God? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to flow in a life of intimacy and fearlessness with the Lord?

From the book, A White Stone, Chapter 1

 FROM OUR FATHER'S HEART

From Chapter 1 of A White Stone

How many  people  have  seen My Son in your life?

How many have chosen  to serve Me through My Son

because they have seen Him in you?

How many have turned from their ways to My ways

because of your ways?

Does your neighbor know that you are My tabernacle?

Does your enemy know that you are told

to lay your life down for him and have agreed to do so?

Do you know that I love the abortionist, the pornographer,

the homosexual?

Do you know that I have sent you to them that they might see

My Son through you, that they might accept Him?

Do you have the eternity of your every contact  in mind

when you address them?  If not, why not?

Bible Correlations

   Matt. 10:16,19 AMP; Matt. 25:35-40;

Luke 14:23 AMP; 2 Cor. 5:17

Do these questions make you say, “ouch?” In addition to “ouch,” they make me say “only by your grace, Lord.” I know all these things in my head, but are they really in my heart? In spite of all our human failures, I believe that God allows His Son to be seen in us as it suits His purposes. Haven’t you found that someone saw Jesus in you even when you were unaware of being observed?

Take courage.  Your Lord is taking you through the process of going from glory to glory. He chooses to make you part of His plan of love and salvation to others, knowing that you haven’t “arrived,” yet. (By the way, be fearful of the time when you think that you just might have it all together!)

Let's Do This Together

There’s a story about a veteran who suffered from PTSD. The veteran was in a deep hole. First his family threw down a rope, but he wasn’t prepared to come out. Then his therapist threw down a rope, but again he wasn’t ready to come out. Then his minister reached out with great compassion, and the result was still the same. Finally, a fellow veteran came by; and he, too, threw down a rope. Then he climbed down into the hole with the first vet, well acquainted with why the man couldn’t grab the rope and climb out. “What are you doing down here with me?” the hurting vet said. His fellow vet replied, “I’m here to climb out with you.”

No bond is stronger than the bond of a companion, a brother or sister you can trust, who is willing to fight side-by-side in an extreme challenge with you, whatever that challenge may be. This person serves not from a lofty perch, having all of the answers; but cherishes the privilege of joining in the war with you as you both climb to freedom together. That is how we hope to serve you. As you navigate life’s challenges, remember that we are in this together. Most people you meet, have more than likely been close to where you are. As Christians and by the power of the Holy Spirit, let’s climb to freedom together from whatever hole you may be in, whatever challenge you may be facing.
